Maïa Mercure is a Death Doula based in Nanaimo, BC, supporting individuals and families through the many thresholds of living, dying, and grief. Through her practice, Between Realms, Maïa offers compassionate guidance across the full spectrum of end-of-life care—from exploring mortality and meaning to practical planning, bedside presence, and grief support. Her services include Advance Care Planning workshops and private sessions, MAiD navigation, vigil planning, home funeral guidance, ceremony and ritual creation, and compassionate support for families before and after death.

Between Realms is shaped by a willingness to engage with the mystical dimensions of dying while remaining grounded in ethics and professional practice. Alongside her doula work, Maïa is a Shamanic Reiki Master specializing in Reiki for grief. Maïa has completed training through TheraPsil, an advocacy organization helping Canadians with cancer & mental health conditions access psychedelic therapy. She is also a Willow End-of-Life Educator® and facilitates Soul Talks: Living Well, Dying Well, a conversation experience bringing the topic of mortality out of the shadows and building death literacy in her community.
